Tumaini Festival 2018
The fifth edition of the Tumaini Festival was held over the weekend at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa, central Malawi. Dzaleka is home to thousands of refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Somalia.
The festival was conceptualised by Menes La Plume (pictured above in a blue t-shirt) five years ago as a one-day cultural festival. The event has since grown over the years into a two-day event attracting over 30,000 people, locals and foreigners alike. The festival features music, dance, drama and poetry.
