Tucked away at the tail end of Lifuwu Village, Joma Adventure Lodge awaits. The lodge is nestled at the foot of a rocky hill with a vast beach that promises both adventure and serenity.
Joma Adventure Lodge is an eight-roomed lodge that opened in late 2022. Situated in Leopard Bay in Salima on the shores of Lake Malawi, this gateway promises its guests true relaxation.
Jome Adventure Lodge has eight en-suite rooms. Each room boasts a private balcony, offering you an uninterrupted view of Lake Malawi’s shimmering waters.
The lodge currently uses a combination of solar and generator power. They are working towards being connected to the national grid soon
Lifuwu Village thrums with the energy of a bustling fishing community. Along the beach, a healthy collection of wooden drying tables, known as thandala, stands testament to the village’s source of livelihood. Out on the water, a large fleet of fishing boats bobs gently in the Mwera winds.
The spacious lounge and dining area is complimented by a range of seating options. Large windows overlooking the bay usher in natural light and stunning views. If your preference is fresh air, then the large verandah gives you even better views of the lake of stars.
The bar is well-stocked with a range of beers and spirits. The menu has a range of dishes and includes fish fresh out of the lake.

Joma Adventure Lodge is just over 8km from the main S122 Salima road.
During your stay, if you are in the mood for adventure, you can take a hike up the Seven Senga Hills. Alternatively, you can explore the different offerings in Senga Bay, including enjoying an afternoon game drive at Mkuyu Game Lodge or a drink at Matundu Cottage Beach Resort.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from May to October. During these months, the weather is warm and dry with clear skies, making it perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and water sports.
